How are you? It has been a long time since we spoke.
I’m sorry I have been busy but that doesn’t mean that you are from my thoughts, in fact I think of you quite a lot.
I know I have never expressed my gratitude in words for all that you have done for me, so I will now.
I know it couldn’t have been easy bringing up us kids when money was tight. What with the small wages my Dad brought home, but you managed and no doubt you and he went without things yourself so we could not want.
Mum, you were a pillar of strength when I was growing up. Always there with advice and a smile. That smile that said “Everything was going to be okay.”
So I just want to say, thank you for your love, your guidance, your strength, your warmth… and for that mortal sin of a laugh of yours that I still hear.
I won’t ask you if you are happy, because I know you are!
I sense you every day standing behind me. Thank you for giving me life, thank you for being my mother, thank you for me.
Your Mike xxx
