Okay, so here’s a joke…
A man goes to the doctor and says, “Doctor, it hurts every time I hit myself on the head with a hammer.” The Doctor asks exactly where it hurts, inspects the injury, sits at his desk and writes a note, then gives it to the man.
The man, asks “Is this a prescription for pain medications?” “No” the doctor says “It’s a piece of paper to stick on your wall.”
The man asks how a piece of paper stuck to his wall is going to help… but the Doctor just nods at the paper. The man opens it and reads:
STOP HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD WITH A HAMMER!!!
IBS is similar in some ways. If we keep eating foods that cause injury, we’ll continue to feel the pain. So here are seven easy things to write on a piece of paper and stick on your fridge 🙂
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Avoid white, refined, processed and over cooked food
3. Eat plenty of fresh Vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts, beans, lentils and wholefoods
4. Take a sprinkle of Psyllium husks over your food daily or try chia seeds
5. Try some Oats
6. Use alternative sweeteners to sugar
7. Get a walk in every day
